This email is to inform you that the 2012 Lehigh University Paul Short Run Presented by Brooks is now accepting teams for the 2012 cross country race which will be held on Friday, September 28th.  The entire registration process for the event will take place on our site at www.paulshortxcrun.com  The Paul Short Committee has decided to proceed with the event in the same manner as last year.  The payment process will be a one-step process paid when you enter “your intent to participate.”  Be assured that we are passionate about maintaining the high level of the event and look forward to making the Lehigh University Paul Short Run even better in the future.

Forms of Payment

 

·         Credit Cards will be accepted for payment (your card information will be requested when you declare your intent to participate)

·         Checks will only be accepted for payment until August 10th.  Be sure to mail your check by August 5th so that we can guarantee your spot in the event.

Entry Timeline

 

·         Intent/Contract to participate: Site will open July  9th until August 10th at midnight  (you must pay your fee at this time and only teams who have declared their intent and paid the entry fee will be accepted)  This payment now serves as a contract toward your participation in the 2012 event.

·         Entry Registration: open August 15th to September 12th at midnight

·         NO CHANGES TO YOUR ROSTER AFTER SEPTEMBER 12th at midnight (you will need to enter anyone who you think may be running)

·         Keep in mind that our entry fields are limited to the first 120 college teams (per gender) distributed among three races and the first 80 high school teams (per gender) distributed among two races.

 

College Fee Structure

 

Teams with five or more entries (scoring) will make a single payment based on their number of entries.

Entry fees are per gender and due no later than August 10th.

·         Contract Fee:

 5-10 runners = $230

11-15 runners = $280

16-20 runners = $330

21-25 runners = $380

26-30 runners= $430

31 + runners = $480

·         $50 late entry fee if you miss a deadline

·         Please be reminded that you are paying for your entry and not your participation in the event

·         Entry fee is $40 per individual entry up to 4 runners .

·         $50 late entry fee if you miss a deadline

·         Please be reminded that you are paying for your entry and not your participation in the event

 

High School Fee Structure

 

Teams with five or more entries (scoring) will make a single payment based on their number of entries.

Race Seeding

·         Limited field sizes to approximately 120 college teams (per gender) and 80 high school teams (per gender)

·         College - Three scored college divisions per gender (Gold, Brown, and White) with a max of 10 athletes permitted to participate in the scored divisions.  An open race (per gender) for additional collegians and post-collegiate athletes will also be offered with unlimited entries but no team scoring or awards.

·         High School - Two scored high school divisions per gender (Brown and White) with a max of 10 athletes permitted to participate in these scored divisions.   A JV Race (per gender) for additional high school athletes will also be offered with unlimited entries but no team scoring or awards.

·         Coaches will indicate their race preference with their intent to participate by August 10th and self seed using estimated times when they register their athletes between August 15th and September 12th

·         Final Race assignments will be posted on the website www.paulshortxcrun around Wednesday night, September 19th

·         A max of 10 athletes will be allowed in the scored divisions (Gold, Brown, and White) and there is no limit in the open/jv races
